MISSION STATEMENT We, the members of Trinity United Church of Christ, fully aware of our challenging and hopeful biblical heritage and of the richness of our local Church heritage, adhering to the confessions of faith recognized by our Church, and believing that God continues to call people of the Church to faithfulness and service in every age, believe that God, through the Holy Spirit: V Calls us, and we commit ourselves, to receive and celebrate the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in learning and worship; V Empowers us, and we commit ourselves, to embody the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our personal lives and together as a Church;
V Strengthens us, and we commit ourselves, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed;
V Calls us, and we commit ourselves, to the struggle for righteousness, justice, and peace, in our personal lives, in our homes, in our Church, and in the world;
V Inspires us, and we commit ourselves, to be a people of hope, discerning and celebrating God’s coming reign in this world and in the life to come. Vision Statement As a historic downtown church, we envision a Trinity family enthusiastically committed to worshipping and working together for the future of our congregation; to reaching out to our community with open communication and acceptance of all – a church which celebrates our faith through liturgy, music, and the arts; and led by a dynamic, spiritual pastor. |
